Waiver Services

We believe that all people have the right to lead an everyday life. TNS is committed to a family focused, community centered, beyond conventional approach.

TNS is a Qualified Waiver Provider with Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs.  We currently offer the following waiver services:

    • Community Participation Support – Our Explore program offers year round opportunities for young adults with intellectual disabilities as they transition out of high school in the Bucks County area.
    • Supported Employment – In Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester counties, we are offer services to help participants obtain, maintain, and retain competitive integrated employment
    • Advanced Supported Employment  – Discovery is an alternative vocational assessment that provides information needed to determine the strengths, conditions for success, and interests of the person. The outcome of Discovery is a customized profile of the person that represents the best qualities and qualifications of the person to help in the job seeking process. It differs from traditional vocational assessments in that it uses positive descriptive language and shows relevant skills, conditions for success, and interests of the job seeker. This “person-centered” approach leads to Customizable Employment for the person with a disability.

Community Inclusion is all about having the opportunity to live in the community and be valued for ones strengths, desires, and goals… much like any other community member.

What is Explore?

TNS’s Explore Program is a full day community based day program. During a typical day in our program, participants have the opportunity to explore worksites, practice cooking and kitchen safety, travel train, workout and so many other everyday life functions. Our goal each day is to make sure we are accessing, interacting, and becoming part of our local community.

TNS's Community Participation Support Program

Far too often, young adults graduate high school without paths toward employment, socialization, education and independent living. An everyday life is so often out of reach. At TNS’s Explore Program, participants will have the opportunity to:

              •  Access their local communities
              • Develop work skills by volunteering at community sites, exploring small businesses, and developing skills to find employment along the way
              • Socialize with peers
              • Learn about traveling in the community (Dart Bus, Septa Regional Rail, Safety in the Streets)
              • Reinforce everyday living skills like cooking, baking, laundry, and cleaning
              • Maintain healthy life styles by modeling good fitness routines, and exploring different ways to have and keep fit!
              • LEAD EVERYDAY LIVES!
